A closet cataloguer! My secret is out. I was a cataloguer for two decades (something that will frighten the younger members of the staff). Thankfully I am back in the closet now. The thought of cataloguing 'My library' makes my blood run a little cold. Maybe I will only use the 'read but not owned' function on Library Thing.
I have started a 'shelf' on Library Thing and will continue to add to it (as I said, 'read but not owned').
I have also started an account with Goodreads. At this stage I cannot see the point in using this as well as Library Thing, but the subtleties may be escaping me.
I liked the look of Book army, it was eye catching and interesting with lots of snippets of information but by this stage I don't feel inclined to join another on line group. Book ARmy seemed to offer lots of links to other services, from purchasing to reading groups. It also seemed more newsy, but without registering I am not sure of its strengths over and above Library Thing.
